Toyota & Suzuki Partnership Leads To 41% Increase In Car Sales In October 2024
Toyota, a prominent car manufacturer in India, has partnered with Suzuki, another Japanese automaker. This collaboration extends to working with Maruti Suzuki in India. Toyota has greatly benefited from this alliance, as evidenced by its sales figures for October 2024.
In October 2024, Toyota sold 30,845 cars, marking a 41% increase from October 2023. The previous year, Toyota sold 21,879 cars in the same month. This growth highlights the impact of Toyota's strategy of replicating popular Maruti Suzuki models. Customers unable to purchase Maruti vehicles often turn to Toyota as an alternative.

Of the total cars sold by Toyota in October 2024, 28,138 were sold within India. The remaining 2,707 vehicles were exported from India. This domestic focus has been crucial in boosting Toyota's sales figures significantly.
From April to October 2024, Toyota sold 193,468 cars in India. During the same period in 2023, the company sold only 145,818 cars. This represents a substantial increase of 33%, or 47,650 additional cars sold.

To meet the growing demand for its vehicles in India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor is ramping up production. A key part of this effort is the implementation of a three-shift system in its factories. This change aims to enhance production capacity and meet market demands more effectively.
Sabari Manohar, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota’s passenger vehicles unit, commented on the sales growth: "All our product lines are seeing robust sales momentum. This has brought festive cheer to all of us at Toyota." He noted that special edition cars launched before Diwali have significantly boosted sales.
Impact of Partnership with Maruti Suzuki
The partnership with Maruti Suzuki has been instrumental in increasing Toyota's sales month after month. By manufacturing and selling cars similar to popular Maruti models, Toyota attracts customers who might otherwise choose Maruti Suzuki vehicles.
The launch of special edition and limited edition cars ahead of Diwali has also played a crucial role in boosting sales. These editions have attracted significant customer interest and contributed to the overall increase in sales figures for October.
Toyota's strategic partnership with Maruti Suzuki and its focus on special editions have led to impressive sales growth. The company's efforts to increase production capacity further indicate its commitment to meeting rising demand in India.
