Toyota Strengthens Ties With Rebelle Rally, Debuts In X-CROSS Class For 2024
Toyota Motor North America (Toyota) has reaffirmed its sponsorship and participation in the Rebelle Rally, a premier women-only off-road navigation event. This marks Toyota's third consecutive year as a sponsor and multi-team participant. Fourteen Toyota team members will compete in seven teams, with one team making its debut in the X-CROSS class, while the others will compete in the 4×4 class.
Participants come from various divisions within Toyota, including Research and Development, CALTY Design, and Vehicle Performance. The rally spans from October 10 to 19, 2024, covering over 1,500 miles across California and Nevada deserts. Competitors must navigate using only a map and compass, without GPS or internet-aided devices.

In preparation for the rally, Toyota participants undergo extensive training through Rebelle U, the event’s training arm. These sessions include specialized courses focusing on navigation fundamentals, mapping techniques, and driving skills. A video showcasing their latest training session is available for viewing.
Mike Sweers, executive vice president and chief technology officer at Toyota Motor North America Research and Development (TMNA R&D), stated: "Rebelle Rally provides a unique opportunity for our team members to explore the capabilities of Toyota vehicles and challenge themselves in a secure and inclusive environment."
Toyota continues as the presenting sponsor of the event’s live webcast for the third year. The live broadcast will be available on multiple platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and the event’s website. It includes highlights, competitor interviews, live course updates, current standings, and insights into team strategies.
Susann Kazunas, president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas Inc., expressed enthusiasm: "The Rebelle Rally epitomizes empowerment and adventure, aligning perfectly with Toyota’s commitment to progress and promoting diversity." She added that they are excited to witness competitors embark on this transformative journey.
