Toyota & Maruti Suzuki Partnership Boosts Car Sales In India: Achieves Significant Growth In November 2024
Toyota, a prominent Japanese car manufacturer, collaborates with Suzuki in India through Maruti Suzuki. This partnership allows Toyota to produce cars based on popular Maruti models, leading to significant monthly sales. In November 2024, Toyota sold 25,183 vehicles, securing the fifth spot for car sales in India that month. This figure marks a 49% increase from November 2023 when 16,924 cars were sold.
Despite the impressive year-on-year growth, Toyota's November sales were lower than October 2024, when they sold 28,183 cars. The decline of 3,000 units is attributed to festive holidays like Diwali and Dussehra. The Innova emerged as the top-selling model in November, with 7,867 units sold. This includes both the Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross models.

The Innova's sales in November represented a 14% increase compared to the same month in 2023. However, it was a 29% decrease from October 2024 figures. Following the Innova, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder was another popular choice among buyers. This mid-size SUV saw sales of 4,857 units last month.
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder's sales showed a significant rise of about 62% compared to November 2023. Yet, there was an 11% drop when compared to October's numbers. Meanwhile, Toyota's budget-friendly hatchback Glanza recorded sales of 3,806 units in November.
The Glanza experienced a slight decline of 4% from October's sales figures. On the other hand, the compact SUV Taisor saw an increase of 17%, with 3,620 units sold in November. The Fortuner also performed well with 2,865 units sold last month.

Fortuner's sales increased by 53% compared to November of the previous year. Additionally, the Toyota Rumion, based on Maruti Suzuki Ertiga's design, sold 1,803 units during the same period. Other models like the Hilux pickup truck and Camry hybrid sedan had modest sales.
Additional Model Sales
Toyota sold 149 Hilux trucks and 130 Camry hybrid sedans in November. The luxury Vellfire model saw sales of just 89 units last month. Despite a slight dip in overall sales from October to November this year, Toyota remains optimistic due to strong performance across most models compared to last year's figures.
Overall, Toyota's diverse lineup continues to attract Indian consumers. The company is likely to remain confident about future prospects as many models have shown growth over last year's performance.
