Toyota Gazoo Racing To Transition From Toyota Racing Ahead Of 2025 Season
Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has announced a significant change for its racing division. Starting in 2025, Toyota Racing will be renamed Toyota Gazoo Racing North America. This change aligns with Toyota's global motorsports strategy, bringing all racing activities under the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) banner. TRD, U.S.A., a TMNA subsidiary, will continue to provide technical and engineering support across all U.S. motorsports efforts.
Paul Doleshal, group manager of motorsports at TMNA, stated, "The transition to Toyota Gazoo Racing is an opportunity for our world-class racing program to better align with Toyota’s global motorsports efforts while simultaneously continuing the championship-level results we’ve earned under the previous banner here in the U.S." He emphasized that the GR Company and TGR philosophy involves using motorsports to enhance production vehicles by pushing machinery to its limits on track.

With a 60-year history in motorsports, Toyota has achieved victories in nearly every major championship and racing event worldwide. The new focus of TGR North America will be on delivering excitement to fans and continuously improving vehicle performance on the road. The GR badge signifies Toyota's commitment to creating thrilling, race-inspired vehicles.
The NASCAR Cup Series will continue featuring Camry models, while GR Supras will compete in the Xfinity Series. NHRA teams in Top Fuel and Funny Car categories already race under the TGR banner. Additionally, Formula DRIFT drivers use GR Corolla Hatchback, GR Supra, and GR86 models. GT4 drivers in IMSA and SRO competitions field the GR Supra GT4 EVO.
The 2025 racing season begins at Daytona International Speedway with a four-hour GT4 race featuring GR Supras on January 24. The NASCAR season follows with the Cup Series Clash debuting at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on February 2. The regular NASCAR season starts in Daytona from February 12 to 16.
The Toyota GR Cup will enter its third season in 2025, showcasing the Toyota GR86 in this signature spec series. Meanwhile, NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series entries will continue using Toyota Tundras with TRD Pro badges. Off-road racing vehicles will also retain the TRD nameplate.
