Toyota Gazoo Racing North America Introduces GR Corolla Touring Car For Competitive Racing

Toyota Gazoo Racing North America (TGRNA) has introduced the GR Corolla TC racecar at the GR Garage in Mooresville, North Carolina. This addition enhances TGRNA's sports car racing program in North America. The GR Corolla TC is designed for both track enthusiasts and competitive racers, starting as a production model before receiving race-ready upgrades for the SRO’s TC America series.

The GR Corolla TC features a 1.6L 3-cylinder turbo engine, an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT), and a GR-FOUR All-Wheel-Drive system. The GR Garage team implements extensive race specifications, including Alcon brakes, custom MacPherson struts by TGRNA, JRi dual-adjustable shocks, and various aerodynamic enhancements. Bosch Motorsport electronics manage the drivetrain, power management, and ABS.

Safety is paramount with additions like an FIA-approved roll cage, an OMP fiberglass seat with a six-point harness, and an OMP electronically activated fire extinguishing system. Mike Norem, manager of Customer Racing at TGRNA, expressed enthusiasm about transforming the GR Corolla into a track-ready racecar. "The opportunity to take the GR Corolla and make it a track-ready racecar with the team here at TGRNA was exciting project to tackle," he stated.
