Morgan Crawford, founder of The Moxie League in Mobile, Alabama, empowers young girls through basketball mentoring. Her organisation combines athletic competition with career mentoring to foster confidence and leadership. The Moxie League offers a supportive environment where girls can develop essential life skills while focusing on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Tam and Brett Donelson established The Cycle Effect in Eagle, Colorado, to empower young women through mountain biking. Their nonprofit provides underserved girls with bikes, gear, transportation, bilingual coaching, and low-cost programming. By eliminating barriers to entry, they foster resilience and confidence among participants.

To qualify for a Toyota Everyday Heroes grant, organisations must have been active for at least two years. They should create sports opportunities for women and girls locally while achieving measurable impacts. Past honorees include Mechelle Lewis Freeman (TrackGirlz) in 2023 and Liz Ferro (Girls With Sole) in 2022.

The Cycle Effect focuses on equity by serving female-identifying and non-binary participants from diverse backgrounds. Their efforts have introduced many girls to mountain biking while helping them overcome personal challenges. Brett and Tam's dedication has made a significant difference in their community.
