Toyota And KINF Equip Students With Supplies In Third Annual Big Summer Giveback

Toyota and the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) have joined forces for their third annual Big Summer Giveback. This initiative aims to provide over 60,000 students with backpacks filled with essential supplies. The program has seen a record number of Toyota Dealers participating this year, reflecting Toyota's dedication to supporting local communities.

From August 1-31, 2024, Toyota will donate $3.00 to KINF for every paid oil change with a tire rotation at participating Toyota Service Centers. There is a guaranteed minimum donation of $500,000. Additionally, more than 40 Toyota Dealerships across the country have pledged $10,000 each to their communities.

Toyota's Big Summer Giveback Aids Students

With these contributions from Toyota and its dealers, KINF will distribute backpacks filled with school supplies through their Supply a Student program. This ensures that tens of thousands of students start the new school year prepared and ready to learn.

"Toyota is excited to be partnering with KINF for the third annual Big Summer Giveback," said Mark Nazario, Vice President of Guest Experience & Retention at Toyota Motor North America. "This year is going to be our biggest Big Summer Giveback to date, and we are proud to support such a worthy cause. To see our dealers rally around this initiative helps show our commitment to serving the communities we live and work in."

KINF CEO Corey Gordon expressed enthusiasm about continuing the partnership with Toyota. "We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Toyota for the third consecutive year. This collaboration has been instrumental in creating a significant impact for thousands of students and teachers alike. This year alone, over 60,000 students will start the year with the supplies they need to learn," he said.

In schools served by KINF, nearly two-thirds of students begin the school year without necessary supplies. KINF focuses its efforts on schools where 70% or more students qualify for free or reduced meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).

Encouraging Community Involvement

Toyota also encourages customers to contribute through an additional fundraising opportunity at www.kinf.org/toyota. This allows everyone to play a role in supporting education and providing essential resources to students.

Toyota has been part of North America's cultural fabric for over 65 years. The company is committed to advancing sustainable mobility through its Toyota and Lexus brands and operates more than 1,800 dealerships in North America.

About Kids In Need Foundation

The Kids In Need Foundation aims to create equitable learning spaces by distributing supplies and resources. They focus on investing in teachers and students in underserved schools where most students qualify for free or reduced-cost meals through NSLP.

In 2023, KINF supported over 4 million students and 200,000 teachers in 13,000 under-resourced schools through various programs and partnerships. They distributed more than $42 million worth of free school supplies nationwide at no cost to schools or teachers.

This year's Big Summer Giveback highlights Toyota's ongoing commitment to community support while ensuring that students have what they need for academic success.
