Toyota Achieves Historic Milestone With 8 Millionth Certified Used Vehicle Sale At Sheehy Toyota

Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV) has reached a significant milestone by achieving its 8 millionth sale. This landmark was celebrated at Sheehy Toyota of Laurel, where a 2024 Toyota Camry in Supersonic Red was sold. Representatives from Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) were present to commemorate this achievement and presented the buyer with a check covering the car's purchase price.

In addition to the check, a $10,000 donation was made in the customer's name to Active Minds, a nonprofit focused on mental health awareness for young adults. Chris Prender, general manager at Sheehy Toyota, expressed pride in being part of this historic event. "It’s an honor to be part of the TCUV’s 8 millionth sale with our first-time TCUV customer, outstanding sales team, and TMNA to celebrate this historic milestone here in Laurel," he stated.

The customer also received a one-year subscription to Sirius XM as part of the celebration. TCUV has been the leading certified pre-owned vehicle program in the U.S. for 16 years. It began in 1996 and has maintained its top position due to its rigorous certification process and comprehensive warranties.

For a used Toyota vehicle to earn Gold Certification, it must undergo a thorough 160-point inspection. This includes checks on interior and exterior conditions, engine performance, transmission operation, and more. The certification also covers hybrid, electric, and fuel cell components.

Gold Certified vehicles come with a 12-month/12,000-mile limited comprehensive warranty and a seven-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. Additionally, they include seven years or 100,000 miles of Roadside Assistance.

Expanding Customer Assurance

This year saw the introduction of Silver Certification for vehicles up to 10 years old with mileage between 60,000-125,000 miles. This new certification offers customers added peace of mind when purchasing older models.

Toyota has been integral to North America's automotive landscape for over six decades. With more than 1,800 dealerships across the continent and nearly 64,000 employees contributing to vehicle design and production, Toyota remains committed to sustainable mobility solutions.
