CarGurus has identified the top 15 used car models now available for under £15,000, following recent price declines. The list includes a variety of body types, offering significant savings opportunities for consumers. CarGurus, a leading automotive marketplace in the U.K., compiled the list by comparing average prices of popular used car models that have seen the most substantial price drops over the past year.
The analysis focused on vehicles with a minimum of 500 listings from the 2013 model year or newer. The Nissan Leaf (EV) tops the list with a 27.8% decline in average listing price to £12,145, representing a potential savings of £4,675 compared to last year. In comparison, the average listing price of a used car in the UK dropped by 7.4% (£1,429) over the same period.
Following the Nissan Leaf, the Renault Kadjar saw a 26.6% decline in average listing price to £10,960, a reduction of £3,976. The Ford Mondeo ranks third with a 25.9% decrease to £10,451, reflecting a fall of £3,646.
For those interested in SUVs, the Vauxhall Mokka is fourth on the list with a 25.2% drop in average price to £12,933, amounting to a savings of £4,361. The list includes nine SUVs, four hatchbacks, and two saloons. Notably, three models are available with pure electric powertrains: the Nissan Leaf, Vauxhall Mokka, and Hyundai IONIQ.
Chris Knapman, Editorial Director at CarGurus, commented on the findings: "Timing a used car purchase to maximise value for money can be tricky, particularly in recent years where limited inventory has led to higher prices. However, the market is returning to more stable levels, and with that change, there are some great value models to look out for."
