Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio Top 1 Million Sales
India has officially become the third-largest car market globally in FY24, surpassing Japan and trailing only behind the USA and China. In the market, SUVs are the most sought vehicles, making up over half of all car sales.
Among the plethora of choices, three SUVs have achieved a rare feat, crossing the 1 million units sales milestone: the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Creta, and Mahindra Scorpio.

The Indian market is home to approximately 50 SUV models, including popular names like the Tata Punch, Nexon, Harrier, Safari, and other leading brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, Volkswagen, Skoda, and MG.
Despite the stiff competition, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Creta, and Mahindra Scorpio have stood out for their impressive sales volumes.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza, first introduced in 2016, is priced between Rs 8.34 lakh and Rs 14.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
It features a K15C 1.5-litre petrol engine, offering both manual and automatic transmission options, and a CNG variant.

The Hyundai Creta, launched in 2015, is available in standard and N-Line versions, with prices ranging from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers multiple engine options, including a 1.5-litre MPi petrol, a 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol, and a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel, with varying transmission choices.
Entering the Indian market in 2002, the Mahindra Scorpio is available in Classic and N avatars, with prices ranging from Rs 13.59 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scorpio Classic features a 2.2-litre mHawk CRDi diesel engine, while the Scorpio-N offers a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine, a 2.2-litre mHawk CRDi diesel engine, and a 4WD option.
