In recent years, SUVs have become increasingly popular among Indian consumers. The sales figures for June 2024 reflect this trend, with SUVs dominating the market. Here are the top 10 best-selling SUVs in India for June 2024:
The Tata Punch emerged as the top-selling vehicle in India for June 2024, not just within the SUV segment but across all categories, including hatchbacks and sedans. A total of 18,238 units were sold last month. The Tata Punch is available in petrol, CNG, and electric variants, with the EV version gaining popularity.

Securing the second spot, the Hyundai Creta sold 16,293 units in June 2024. This figure represents a slight decrease of 12.78% compared to the 14,447 units sold in June 2023. Meanwhile, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza claimed third place with 13,172 units sold, marking a significant increase of 24.52% from last year's 10,578 units.

The Scorpio is available in two variants: Scorpio Classic and Scorpio-N. On the other hand, Tata Nexon secured fifth place with 12,066 units sold, a decrease of 12.74% compared to last year's sales of 13,827 units.

Mahindra XUV700
Rounding out the top ten is the Mahindra XUV700 with 8,500 units sold in June 2024. This SUV has been gaining traction and is expected to climb higher in future rankings.
"Tata Punch has consistently held the top spot as India’s number one car for the past four months," noted industry analysts. "While the increasing sales of Punch are a positive sign for Tata Motors, the declining sales of Nexon are a cause for concern." They also mentioned that "the July sales figures are likely to witness several changes in this ranking. In particular, Mahindra XUV700 is expected to climb several positions."
The SUV market in India continues to evolve rapidly. With changing consumer preferences and new models being introduced regularly, it will be interesting to see how these rankings shift in the coming months.
