Top Selling SUV In FY2024: A Battle Between Nexon, Brezza, & Creta

The competition for the bestselling SUV in FY2024 is on fire, with Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and Hyundai Creta all in it, to win it. In the first 10 months of FY2024 (April-January), there has been significant growth in the sale of utility vehicles (UVs).

In fact, a total of 20,61,075 units were sold, marking a 25 percent year-on-year increase. Among these sales, eight models have stood out, each surpassing 1,00,000 units sold since April 2023.

These models include three from Maruti Suzuki (Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx), two from Hyundai (Creta, Venue), two from Tata Motors (Nexon, Punch), and one from Mahindra (Scorpio). Together, these eight models constitute approximately 48 percent of the total 2 million UVs sold during the same period.

Tata Nexon aims for a third consecutive victory, benefiting from its multiple offerings in petrol, diesel, and electric variants. Maruti Brezza, a former champion holding the title for four years, is hoping to regain its crown, with the introduction of the CNG variant in March 2023 which accelerated sales and surpassed the one-million milestone.

Hyundai Creta, India's bestselling midsize SUV, remains a strong contender, contributing to the company's overall UV sales. The new Creta has already received over 51,000 bookings. Additionally, Tata Punch emerges as a surprise challenger, equipped with petrol, CNG, and electric options, adding further excitement to the race.
