The Bestselling Sedans Of March 2024
While SUVs and hatchbacks dominate Indian automotive, the sedan segment struggles to hold its ground with a notable decline in demand over the years . In March 2024, sedan sales experienced a 5.38 per-cent decrease compared to the previous year.
The top 11 models of sedans on this list collectively sold 32,346 units in March 2024 which is 1,839 units less than what was sold in March 2023, which stood at 34,185 units sold. Let us have a look at the sales comparison of the top sedans.

Maruti Dzire (15,894 units)
Topping the chart is the Maruti Dzire, with a 49.14% share of the list, with 15,894 units sold in just the one month of March 2024, which is an 18.67% increase in sales when compared to the YoY sales of 13,394 units in March 2023.
Hyundai Aura (4,883 units)
Second on the list, is the Hyundai Aura with 4,883 units sold. This is an impressive 29.39% increase in YoY sales for Hyundai when compared to the 3,774 units sold in March 2023. The Hyundai Aura holds a 15.10% share of the total units sold.
Honda Amaze (2,678 units)
In third place, the Honda Amaze holds an 8.28% share of the list, having sold 2,678 units in March 2024. When compared to the 3,996 units sold in March 2023, the Amaze had a -32.98% decrease in YoY sales.

Tata Tigor/EV (2,017 units)
The Tata Tigor/EV sold 2,017 units in March 2024, which is a -25.43 % decrease in YoY sales as compared to March 2023’s 2,705 units sold, with the Tigor taking fourth place with 6.24% of the market sales for the previous month.
Volkswagen Virtus (1,716 units)
Fifth on the list, we have the Volkswagen Virtus which had 1,847 units sold in March 2024 which is a 3.07% increase in YoY sales when compared to the 1,792 units sold in March 2023. The Virtus accounts for 5.71% of the total sales for March 2024.

Hyundai Verna (1,716 units)
Hyundai experienced a -54.30% decrease in sales of the Verna for March 2024 as compared to the previous year with March 2024 getting 1,716 sales and February 2023 getting 3,755 sales. However, still managed to retain sixth place with 5.31% of the top list.
Skoda Slavia (1,358 units)
The Skoda Slavia sold 1,358 units in March 2024 and currently accounts for 4.20% of the list. This is a -13.72% decrease in sales for the Slavia when compared to March 2023 which has 1,574 units sold.
Honda City (1,116 units)
At number eight we have the Honda City which has decreased in sales when compared to March 2023. 1,116 units of the City were sold in March 2024 which is -58.56% of the 2,693 units sold in the previous year. The City accounts for 3.45% of the total sedans sold in March 2024.
Maruti Ciaz (590 units)
The Maruti Ciaz at number nine has experienced an impressive increase in sales, with 590 units being sold in March 2024 as compared to the 300 units sold the previous year which is a 96.67% increase. The Ciaz accounts for 1.82% of the sedans sold in March 2024.
Toyota Camry (232 units)
At number ten, we have the Toyota Camry with 0.72% of the top list with 232 units sold in March 2024 which is a 136.73% growth from March the previous year that sold 98 units.
Skoda Superb (15 units)
The Skoda Superb at number eleven, has experienced a decrease in sales, with 15 units being sold in March 2024 as compared to the 104 units sold the previous year which is -85.58% lower. The Superb still manages to hold onto 0.05% of the list.
