Top 5 Upcoming SUVs In India: Tata Curvv To Lamborghini Urus SE
Several car manufacturers, including Tata Motors, Mahindra, Citroen, and Lamborghini, are gearing up to launch new SUVs in August 2024. These launches aim to capitalise on the festive season to outpace competitors. Here's a detailed look at the top 5 upcoming SUVs.
Tata Curvv EV & ICE
Tata Motors will reveal the prices for the Curvv EV on August 7. The starting price is expected to be above Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). The top variants may offer a range exceeding 600 km and come with advanced tech features.

Following this, the Curvv ICE will also hit showrooms soon. The ICE versions will include a 1.2L petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine, available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Mahindra Thar Roxx
Mahindra & Mahindra plans to launch the five-door Thar Roxx on August 15. This new off-road SUV will feature a more spacious interior and significant cosmetic updates compared to the three-door model. It will offer three engine options: a 1.5L diesel, a 2.2L diesel, and a 2.0L petrol, along with manual and automatic transmission choices.
Citroen Basalt
The Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe was unveiled yesterday and will compete directly with Tata's IC-engined Curvv. It will be powered by a 1.2L three-cylinder NA petrol engine and its turbo petrol variant, both available with manual and automatic transmissions. Prices for the Basalt will be announced soon in India, and it will be positioned above the C3 Aircross on the heavily localised CMP platform.
Lamborghini Urus SE
Lamborghini is set to introduce the Urus SE PHEV in India on August 9. This model features a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 789 bhp and 950 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and offers an electric-only range of 60 km.
