Renault Bigster SUV: Top 5 Things We Know So Far
The Dacia Bigster, a seven-seater SUV, is set to debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. It shares design elements with the latest Duster. Renault plans to market this SUV in various international markets. In India, it might launch after the new-generation Duster.
Design
Spy images indicate that the Bigster will incorporate familiar design features from the current Duster. These include headlamps, tail lamps, squared-off fenders, and a front grille.

The rear-quarter finish with a kink behind the C-pillar is also retained. However, it will have an extended wheelbase and longer rear overhang to accommodate third-row seating. Also, the boot lid of the Bigster has a new design with a slightly altered number plate holder.
Features
Inside, it is expected to feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity options and a seven-inch digital instrument console similar to the Duster's. While controls may be similar, more premium equipment could be offered.
Powertrain Expectations
Given its larger size and weight, the Bigster is anticipated to have a more powerful engine with increased power and torque. Top trims might include an all-wheel-drive system for enhanced off-roading capabilities.
The global Duster lineup currently offers several powertrains. The base model features a 1.0L TCe 100 engine running on petrol and LPG, producing 100 PS of power. The Duster TCe 130 uses a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology, delivering 130 PS.
A hybrid option is also available in the form of a 1.6L engine paired with two electric motors in the Hybrid 140 variant, offering 140 PS for improved fuel efficiency within the range. This variety ensures that customers have choices tailored to their needs.
Platform
The Bigster will utilise the CMF-B architecture used by various Renault Group models. It will share powertrains and transmissions with other vehicles from the group, aiding production efficiency and parts sourcing across the lineup. This commonality may help maintain competitive pricing for which Dacia is known.
Market Positioning
The Bigster's practicality makes it attractive to families needing extra space due to its third-row seating arrangement. Its design enhancements aim to appeal to those seeking both style and functionality in an SUV.
