Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to launch the next-generation Swift hatchback in India. This upcoming iteration of the Swift hatchback is poised to replace the outgoing version of the Swift in the country. As such, here are 5 changes on the new Swift compared to the outgoing model.
Powertrain
The upcoming 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be powered by a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 80.46bhp and 111.7Nm of torque. In comparison, the outgoing version of the Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated engine with 88.5bhp and 113Nm of torque.

Fuel Efficiency
The upcoming new Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback is a lot more fuel-efficient than the outgoing version of the Swift hatchback with a fuel-efficiency figure of 25.72km/l. In comparison, the fuel-efficiency figure of the outgoing Swift hatchback is rated as 22.56km/l.
Features
The upcoming fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with a few more additional features compared to the outgoing model. These upgraded features include a bigger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, rear AC vents, wireless phone charger, and Arkamys sound system.

Safety
The upcoming fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift recently scored an impressive 4-star safety rating at the JNCAP. Moreover, the model also comes equipped with Level-2 ADAS tech with features such as auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, rear collision alert and more.
Dimensions
The upcoming Swift hatchback measures 3,860mm long, 1,695mm wide, and 1,500mm tall. As such, the upcoming Swift is 15mm longer, 30mm lower, and 40mm narrower than the outgoing model. That being said, the wheelbase of both iterations remains the same.

Thoughts About The Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift Hatchback
The next-generation Swift hatchback is slightly less powerful than the outgoing model, however, it more than makes up the deficit with more mileage and a lot more features as well. We also expect the upcoming Swift to be priced slightly higher.
