TMF Partners With IPC To Enhance Sports Development For Persons With Disabilities Worldwide
The Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), chaired by Akio Toyoda, has partnered with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to launch global programs enhancing sports for individuals with disabilities. These initiatives aim to support athletes and coaches while also establishing future systems and environments. The collaboration will span from January 2025 to December 2028, although the funding amount remains undisclosed.
Central to the IPC's mission is nurturing athletes through talent identification, competition access, and mentorship. This foundational support aims to ensure long-term success for athletes worldwide. By providing these opportunities, the IPC seeks to build a robust framework that supports both current and emerging talents in the field of disability sports.

Leadership development is another crucial aspect of the IPC's strategy. The organisation focuses on empowering individuals who can drive positive change within the disability sports movement. These leaders are essential for fostering an inclusive environment where sports can thrive as a tool for social transformation globally.
The IPC is dedicated to increasing participation in sports among people with disabilities, including children and youth. By collaborating with its members, the IPC aims to create new opportunities for engagement in sports activities. This initiative will help many individuals experience sports for the first time, promoting inclusion and community involvement.
The IPC will oversee these initiatives using its extensive expertise and networks. The focus will be on ensuring that resources reach National Paralympic Committees (NPCs), sports federations, and athletes who need them most. Through careful selection and prioritisation, the IPC aims to maximise impact across various regions.
