1000 Miglia Warm Up USA's Fifth Edition Pays Tribute To The White House With Iconic Time Trials
The third leg of the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA, marking its fifth edition, paid tribute to the White House. The race kicked off with 24 Time Trials on a busy morning. Participants navigated a dirt road in the countryside leading to Unison, known for its Civil War battle. They then tackled an Average Trial in Waterford before entering Maryland.
In Maryland, drivers headed towards the Capital along the riverbanks for the eighth and final Average Trial. Later, they reached Bethesda's Congressional Country Club, a notable venue for major golf events like the US Open and PGA Championship. After Passage Control and more Time Trials, participants enjoyed lunch overlooking the club's expansive green.
In the afternoon, cars proceeded to Washington DC's Italian Embassy. This route included iconic landmarks such as the Washington Monument and United States Capitol. The journey concluded with a customary tribute to the White House. At the embassy, Italian Ambassador Mariangela Zappia welcomed participants before they embarked on the race's seventh and final sector.
The race concluded near Middleburg's new Town Hall after completing all sectors. The evening will feature an announcement of winners followed by a prize-giving ceremony. This event marks another successful edition of the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA.
