Tata Tiago iCNG AMT & Tigor iCNG AMT Launched At Rs 7.90 Lakh: India's First CNG Automatic Cars
Tata Motors has launched the automatic variants of the Tata Tiago CNG hatchback and Tata Tigor CNG sub-4m sedan in India. Prices for the Tata Tiago iCNG AMT starts from Rs 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
On the other hand, prices for the Tata Tigor iCNG AMT starts from Rs 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom). That being said, the launch of these models marks a historic moment as these models are the first CNG vehicles to be equipped with an automatic gearbox in India.
This stunning move from Tata Motors not only enhances the appeal of CNG vehicles but also promises to set a new benchmark for other automakers to follow. We expect the success of these newly launched models to push other automakers to follow the same path.
Comparing the automatic variants to their manual counterparts, the Tiago iCNG AMT commands a premium of about Rs 55,000, whereas the Tigor iCNG AMT is priced approximately Rs 60,000 higher. Despite the price difference, the added convenience of an automatic transmission is expected to attract a broader range of buyers.
The Tiago iCNG AMT is offered in four distinct variants - XTA, XZA+, XZA+ DT, and XZA NRG, with prices stretching from Rs 7.90 lakh to Rs 8.90 lakh. On the other hand, the Tigor iCNG AMT is available in two variants, XZA and XZA+, priced between Rs 8.85 lakh and Rs 9.55 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Both the Tiago and Tigor share a 1.2-liter engine that promises an impressive fuel efficiency of 28.06km/kg of CNG. This commitment to fuel efficiency, combined with the convenience of an automatic transmission, positions these models as attractive options for cost-conscious consumers.
Apart from the introduction of the 5-speed AMT, Tata Motors has refreshed the look of these models with new exterior colour options. The Tiago now shines in Tornado Blue, the Tiago NRG in Grassland Beige, and the Tigor in Meteor Bronze, adding a fresh appeal to these already popular models.
