The Tata Sierra SUV, a name that brings back fond memories, is set to make its return at the Auto Expo 2025. This legendary vehicle has been reimagined for today's world and will be a highlight of Tata Motors' display.
The Sierra's design retains its classic boxy shape, paying homage to its roots while incorporating modern elements. The exterior features a connected LED DRL strip for a sleek look, large alpine windows reminiscent of the original Sierra, and flush-type door handles alongside squarish wheel arches for a contemporary rugged appeal.
Powertrain Options for Diverse Preferences
Tata Motors has ensured the 2025 Sierra caters to various needs with three powertrain options. The electric variant will offer two battery packs—45 kWh and 55 kWh—providing up to 500 km range. It supports DC fast charging and comes in single or dual-motor setups for an eco-friendly yet powerful drive.
The petrol version of the Sierra will be equipped with a 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo engine, delivering 167 bhp and 280 Nm of torque for smooth performance. Meanwhile, the diesel option will feature a robust 2.0-litre engine offering around 168 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, ideal for those seeking both power and efficiency.
Adventure-Ready with 4X4 Capability
The internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Sierra will be built on Tata's ATLAS platform, compatible with 4X4 configurations, making it suitable for off-road enthusiasts. In contrast, the electric model will use the Acti.ev platform tailored specifically for Tata's EV range, ensuring capability and efficiency are seamlessly integrated.
Inside the Sierra, dual 12.3-inch digital screens blend functionality with aesthetics. Ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof enhance the premium cabin experience. A unique four-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo adds an innovative touch.
Production-Ready Debut at Auto Expo
While only seen in concept form until now, the production-ready version of the Sierra will debut at Auto Expo 2025. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness firsthand how this iconic SUV has evolved over time, marking one of Tata Motors' most important launches.
The ICE version's compatibility with off-road capabilities through its ATLAS platform makes it appealing to adventure seekers. Meanwhile, the electric variant's Acti.ev platform ensures it remains efficient while offering a seamless driving experience.
