Tata Punch Claims Top Spot In India's Best-Selling Cars Of June 2024
The list of the top 10 best-selling cars in India for June 2024 has been unveiled. Surprisingly, the Tata Punch, a micro SUV from Tata Motors, has claimed the top position. Tata Motors sold 18,238 units of the Punch in June 2024, a significant increase from 10,990 units in June 2023, marking a 66% growth.
Currently, the Tata Punch starts at Rs 6.13 lakh in the Indian market. The top variant is priced at Rs 10.20 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices. The Tata Punch petrol variants come with a 1.2-litre engine option. It has a power output of 88 PS and 115 Nm. The petrol variants offer a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox option.
On the other hand, the Tata Punch CNG variants also come with the same engine. But the power output is only 73.5 PS and 103 Nm when running on CNG. Only a 5-speed manual gearbox option is available for the CNG variants. Despite the lower power output and lack of automatic gearbox options, the CNG variants offer excellent mileage.
Tata claims that the Punch CNG variants offer a mileage of 26.99 km/kg. However, Tata Motors said that the petrol/manual variants offer a mileage of 20.09 km/litre and the petrol/AMT variants offer a mileage of 18.80 km/litre.
Besides all this, the Tata Punch is also available in an electric version. The starting price of the Tata Punch EV electric car is Rs 10.99 lakh, and the top variant is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh. These are also ex-showroom prices only.
