Tata Punch EV Now Available With Up To Rs 50,000 Discounts For First-Time

The Tata Punch EV, launched in January 2024, is now available with attractive discounts for the first time, with savings of up to Rs 50,000. This offer, particularly for the top-of-the-line Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC fast charger (FC) variant, marks a significant move for Tata Motors. It's essential to note that these discounts may vary based on location and stock availability, urging potential buyers to consult their local dealers for precise offers.

This electric vehicle (EV) comes in two battery and motor configurations, catering to a range of customer needs. The price bracket for the Tata Punch EV starts at Rs 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.49 lakh. The flagship variant, known for its enhanced range and power, is now more accessible thanks to a combination of cash discounts, insurance benefits, and additional dealer offers.

Dealerships have reported an influx of the Empowered +S LR version, equipped with a 7.2kW AC charger, around the launch period. To facilitate quicker sales of this inventory, a flat Rs 20,000 discount, alongside other benefits, brings the total savings to Rs 50,000. This initiative aims to reduce the ex-showroom price of the high-end model from Rs 15.49 lakh to around Rs 15 lakh.

Features and Competitor Comparison

The Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC variant is distinguished by its larger 35kWh battery, offering an ARAI-certified range of 421km, and a 122hp motor. It also boasts premium additions such as an electronic parking brake, hill-descent control, a sunroof, ambient lighting, leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and driver display. Despite its high spec, when compared to similarly priced rivals like the Citroen eC3 Shine Dual Tone Vibe, priced at Rs 13.49 lakh, the Punch EV remains competitively featured, though the eC3 is less equipped.

DriveSpark Thinks

With nearly every Tata showroom housing about five to 10 units of this particular model, the offer is expected to attract a considerable number of customers. Tata Motors continues to expand its electric vehicle portfolio, with recent launches including the Tata Nexon Smart+ AMT and the upcoming Tata Altroz Racer, alongside the first sighting of the Tata Punch facelift.

As the EV market in India continues to grow, offers like these serve not only to make electric vehicles more accessible to a broader audience but also to cement Tata's position as a key player in the electrification drive.
