Tata Nexon EV 45kWh: Top 5 Things You Need To Know
Tata Motors has unveiled a new 45kWh battery for the Nexon EV, enhancing its claimed range. This upgrade is available across three trims, with prices starting at Rs 13.99 lakh and reaching up to Rs 16.99 lakh for the top Empowered+ trim. Additionally, a Red Dark edition is introduced at Rs 17.19 lakh.
Nexon EV Battery Options & Price
The Nexon EV now offers three battery choices, including the new 45kWh variant. This option is available from the entry-level Creative trim, priced Rs 60,000 less than the 40.5kWh version that starts from the Fearless trim. The panoramic sunroof is a notable feature in the 45kWh lineup.

Range
The larger battery pack offers an ARAI-certified range of up to 489km, which is an improvement over the previous model's range of 465km with a smaller battery pack of 40.5kWh capacity.

Powertrain
Despite the increased battery size, power and torque remain at 145hp and 215Nm respectively. Tata Motors states that the new battery is more energy-dense by about 15%, occupying the same space as its predecessor.
Charging
Charging time has improved; it takes just 48 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, compared to the previous model's time of around 56 minutes for similar charging levels.

Nexon EV Red Dark Edition
The Red Dark edition is exclusive to the Empowered+ trim with a price tag of Rs 17.19 lakh-an increase of Rs 20,000 over its base model counterpart.
This edition features gloss black paint with red accents and black wheels measuring sixteen inches in diameter while inside there are significant updates such as red upholstery on seats along with an all-black dashboard theme featuring contrasting red stitching plus unique Red Dark-themed UI for infotainment systems.

Other Details
Tata Motors assures that despite slight weight increases due to larger batteries being used within these vehicles' designs, they will still retain their five-star BNCAP crash test certification status that was previously awarded.
