The Secret Behind Tata Nexon 5-Star Safety Rating: Safety Features & Other Details
In a landmark achievement, the Tata Nexon has set high safety standards by securing a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP. With an impressive score of 29.86 out of 32 for adult safety and 44.95 out of 49 for child safety, the Tata Nexon has demonstrated its capability to provide top-notch protection for both adults and children.
The Tata Nexon is not just a vehicle; it's a pioneer in the realm of automotive safety in India. It was the first car to achieve a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test, showcasing its robust safety features.
The 2024 version of this sub-4 metre compact SUV has been upgraded comprehensively, maintaining its stance as a leader in vehicle safety. The Nexon's exceptional performance in the Bharat NCAP's rigorous tests, covering both adult and child protection, highlights its design and safety features aimed at safeguarding passengers.
Starting with the basics, every Nexon model comes equipped with six airbags, showcasing Tata Motors' uncompromising approach to passenger safety. Enhancing this safety suite, the Nexon also features an Electronic Stability Program, rear parking sensors, central locking, and a collapsible steering wheel for additional security. Moreover, to assist drivers in challenging driving conditions, the Nexon offers Hill Hold Control, facilitating safer drives on steep inclines.
As Tata Motors extends its safety offerings with higher variants, additional features such as a rear parking camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and rear defogger enhance the driving experience. Not stopping there, the Nexon also incorporates front fog lamps with cornering ability, an auto-dimming Inside Rear-View Mirror (IRVM), a Blind View Monitor, and front parking sensors for superior visibility and parking ease. For convenience during varying weather conditions, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers are also part of the package.
Delving into the specifics of the Bharat NCAP assessment, the Tata Nexon excelled in both the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. It scored 14.65 out of 16.00 and 14.76 out of 16.00 in these tests, respectively.
The tests revealed that the driver’s chest and legs, as well as the co-passenger's legs, received 'adequate' protection. Additionally, in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, the driver's chest was also adequately protected. Remarkably, in both assessments, all body parts of the driver and the co-passenger were rated as receiving 'good’ protection.
