Bharat NCAP Awards Tata Nexon 5-Star Safety Rating: All Details Here
The Tata Nexon has set a new benchmark in vehicle safety standards in India by becoming the first car to secure a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. This landmark achievement highlights its superior design and safety features, underscoring Tata Motors' commitment to passenger protection.
The Nexon's recent evaluation by Bharat NCAP showcased its exceptional performance in both adult and child occupant safety, earning it full marks in these crucial categories.

With a gross weight of 1,638 kg, the tested model, Nexon Fearless Diesel AMT, is equipped with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and seat belt reminders for all seats, ensuring comprehensive safety for all passengers. In the rigorous testing process, the Nexon attained high scores, including 29.41 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection.
This was achieved through tests like the frontal offset deformable barrier test, where it scored 14.65 out of 16 points, and the side movable deformable barrier test, with a score of 14.76 out of 16 points. Additionally, its performance in child occupant safety was commendable, securing 43.83 out of 49 points, further solidifying its status as a leader in vehicle safety.

Enhanced Features and Competitive Edge
The Nexon is not only about safety; its powertrain options cater to a diverse range of preferences. The car is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, delivering 120PS of peak power and 170Nm of torque. For those preferring diesel, the Nexon offers a 1.5-litre engine with 110PS of peak power.
Drivers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed manual, or an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), based on their driving comfort.
Amidst the fiercely competitive sub 4m utility vehicle (UV) segment, the 2024 Tata Nexon facelift stands out, not just for its safety accolades but also for its robust engine options and advanced features. It faces stiff competition from the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3XO, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.

However, the Nexon's comprehensive safety features, coupled with its technological advancements, such as the free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a new digital instrument screen with full-screen navigation support, give it a competitive edge.
Tata Nexon is redefining what consumers can expect from vehicles in its class, particularly in terms of safety standards. Its impressive Bharat NCAP 5-star rating in both adult and child occupant safety is a testament to Tata Motors' dedication to manufacturing vehicles that do not compromise on safety.
