The Altroz Racer Likely To Be Launched Very Soon: 1.2L Turbo Petrol Engine, Packed With Tech
Tata Motors is gearing up to shake the Indian hatchback market with the introduction of the Altroz Racer next month. This sportier take on the already popular Altroz hatchback brings more power and a host of additional features to the table, setting it apart from its contenders.
The Altroz Racer will share the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with the Nexon. This engine puts out 118.36bhp and 170Nm of torque, marking a significant upgrade from the Altroz iTurbo's power output. This engine also comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Visually, the Altroz Racer distinguishes itself with a dual-tone paint job, racing stripes, and 'Racer’ badges, alongside a refreshed grille and new alloy wheels. Inside, expect premium leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching and vibrant dashboard accents.
The hatchback will be decked out with advanced tech, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, and a voice-assisted sunroof, setting a new standard in its segment. Safety is also a priority, with six airbags, ESC, and other safety tech.

When it comes to pricing, the Altroz Racer is positioned as a flagship variant, likely to be tagged between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12.52 lakh, ex-showroom India. It aims to go head-to-head with the Hyundai i20 N Line, while also eyeing competition from the turbo-petrol variants of the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Taisor.
For those interested in the broader Tata lineup, the company is currently offering attractive discounts on the Nexon EV and over Rs 1 lakh off on the Harrier and Safari models for the MY2023 stock, making it a great time to consider a Tata vehicle.
