Tata's Trio For 2024: Nexon ICNG, Altroz Racer, & Curvv
Tata Motors is gearing up to make 2024 an impressive year with the introduction of at least three new models in the Indian market. Following a successful 2023 that saw the launch of several new cars and SUVs along with excellent sales performance, the Indian carmaker aims to maintain its momentum.
The highlight of the upcoming launches includes the expansion of the Nexon and Altroz ranges and the debut of an all-new model, the Curvv, marking Tata's first completely new offering in three years.

Tata Nexon iCNG
Building on its pioneering role in the CNG segment with India's first CNG-automatic models, the Tiago and Tigor iCNG, Tata Motors is set to launch the Nexon iCNG. Unveiled at this year's Bharat Mobility Expo, the Nexon iCNG will be the first factory-made turbocharged CNG-powered car in the market.
It will be powered by the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine found in the standard petrol variant. Expected to come with a manual gearbox as standard and a potential AMT option, the Nexon iCNG's price is anticipated to be about Rs 1 lakh higher than its petrol counterpart.

Tata Altroz Racer
The imminent launch of the Tata Altroz Racer positions Tata as a competitor to the Hyundai i20 N Line. The Altroz Racer, which has been spied during tests, will feature a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 118bhp, 10bhp more than the Altroz iTurbo. It will also come equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The spied model bore dual-tone orange and black paint similar to the expo display unit, albeit with the standard Altroz alloy wheels. Enhancements include twin racing stripes, 'Racer’ badges, a revised grille, and a host of features such as a new 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, ESC, a heads-up display, and a voice-assisted sunroof.

Tata Curvv
The Tata Curvv, a midsize SUV, is set to launch around the festive season this year after a slight delay. The electric version, using Tata's Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture, is expected to lead the launch, boasting an impressive range of 450-500km. This places the Curvv EV ahead of potential rivals like the Creta EV and Maruti eVX.
The petrol and diesel variants of the Curvv are slated for production around September, with launches expected in late 2024 or early 2025. The petrol Curvv will feature a new 123bhp, 1.2-litre turbo engine, with both manual and automatic transmissions available, while the diesel variant will likely use the Nexon’s 1.5-litre engine, with 6-speed manual and AMT options.
A CNG version is also anticipated later on. Despite its unique coupe-like roofline, it’s yet to be seen how it will be received by the Indian market. Expected features for the Curvv include a 360-degree camera, 10.25-inch screens for both infotainment and driver display, cooled seats, among others, with the possibility of ADAS still being unknown.
DriveSpark Thinks
As Tata Motors continues to expand its portfolio, these new additions aim to cater to a wide range of preferences and needs within the Indian market. With a focus on innovation, performance, and advanced technology, Tata is set to keep its growth trajectory well into 2024 and beyond.
