Tata Motors Set To Introduce Curvv EV & Nexon CNG In India

Tata Motors is preparing to introduce two new cars in India: the Tata Curvv EV and the Tata Curvv. The Tata Curvv EV, an electric vehicle, will debut on August 7th. The ICE variant's launch date remains unconfirmed but is anticipated by the end of August.

In September, Tata Motors will unveil another significant model, the Tata Nexon CNG. This car will join the existing petrol, diesel, and electric versions of the popular sub-4 meter compact SUV. The Nexon CNG will feature a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, making it India's first turbo petrol CNG SUV.

Tata Motors Unveils New EV and CNG Models

The Tata Nexon CNG will compete directly with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG in the Indian market. Its introduction is expected to impact sales of other sub-4 meter compact SUVs. The car will use twin CNG cylinder technology, similar to other Tata CNG models.

The turbo petrol engine in the Nexon CNG will produce up to 118 bhp and 170 Nm torque on petrol. However, its power output on CNG is yet to be disclosed. Typically, CNG engines deliver slightly less power than their petrol counterparts but offer better mileage.

While exact figures are not available, it is estimated that the Tata Nexon CNG will achieve around 25 kilometres per kilogram of CNG. This efficiency could make it an attractive option for buyers seeking a high-mileage SUV.

DriveSpark Thinks

The Upcoming Tata Nexon CNG will appeal to customers desiring a powerful yet fuel-efficient SUV. This new model is likely to create competitive pressure within its segment.
