Tata Curvv Electric & ICE Model Teasers Reveal Plenty Of New Exciting Details

Tata Motors has begun teasing the upcoming Curvv siblings through new videos and images. The latest teaser shows both cars being tested together under camouflage in extreme conditions. This is the first official teaser of the Curvv EV and its ICE version pictured together after announcing their imminent launch in India.

The EV will debut first in the second half of this year, followed by its ICE sibling early next year. The new teaser shows both these coupe SUVs being tested in harsh conditions in Thar Desert, Rajasthan. Here, the cars are being tested on some sandy patches in the intense heat, showing their capabilities off the road.

Upcoming Festive Season Launch

Tata Motors has yet to confirm the specifications of both cars. However, the design won't deviate much from what we saw with the concepts. While the Curvv EV could boast 500km of driving range, the ICE version offered in turbocharged petrol and diesel engines will take on hot-selling cars in the compact SUV segment.

The new Acti.ev architecture is a dedicated platform for EVs to support front-wheel, rear-wheel, and even all-wheel drive configurations. This flexibility allows Tata Motors to cater to various customer preferences and driving needs.

Feature and Design

The Curvv siblings will get a fully digital, coloured instrument cluster. A peek at the latter reveals a lane keep assist feature, thus confirming the presence of an ADAS suite. Also up for offer will be paddle shifters; this will be used for shifting gears in the ICE version, while in the EV version, it will change the level of regen.

The new Tata Curvv will also get drive modes that can be switched with a rotary dial on the centre console. The three modes—Eco, City, and Sport—will be offered only in the internal combustion engine line-up. A closer look at the teaser also confirms a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo at the centre.

Testing Under Extreme Conditions

The new teaser showcases the 2024 Curvv siblings being tested in various weather conditions and altitudes. Notably, the ICE version and the EV derivative can be distinguished from each other courtesy of a visible air dam on the fascia. This testing ensures that both versions can handle diverse driving environments effectively.

We have detailed previous teasers that hinted at key exterior features of Citroen Basalt-rival, details of which are live on our website. These teasers have generated significant interest among potential buyers eagerly awaiting more information about these models.

Tata Motors' strategic release of teasers builds anticipation for their upcoming launches. By showcasing rigorous testing and advanced features, they aim to position Curvv as a strong contender in both EV and ICE segments.
