Focus on Automotive Innovation

The automotive sector is undergoing rapid changes with the rise of software-defined vehicles (SDV) and digital technologies. This shift requires swift development, validation, and release of new features while ensuring safety and performance. TENMIC aligns with these trends by enabling OEMs to validate performance through virtual and physical testing before production.

Shaju S., Vice President and Head of Transportation Business Unit at Tata Elxsi, highlighted India's role in next-gen automotive development. He stated, "India is emerging as a global hub for next-generation automotive development with the presence of global R&D centres of the entire mobility ecosystem from OEMs to silicon vendors."

Collaborative Efforts

TENMIC combines Emerson's Test & Measurement business technologies with Tata Elxsi's automotive engineering and digitalisation expertise. This partnership aims to offer automated solutions for SDVs, autonomous driving technologies, EV systems, and batteries.

Bengaluru serves as a strategic location for both companies' headquarters in India. The city offers proximity to a thriving R&D ecosystem of global OEMs, suppliers, and tech firms. Shaju S. added that their collaboration with Emerson leverages global expertise to create significant value for clients.

Industry Impact

The centre's focus on automation, agility, and data-driven methodologies will transform product development lifecycles. It supports the industry's need for advanced software development and testing capabilities due to shifts in vehicle E/E architecture, electrification, and connectivity.

Shitendra Bhattacharya from Emerson's Test and Measurement Business in India & ASEAN remarked on the partnership: "Our partnership with Tata Elxsi to establish this mobility innovation centre for the automotive sector will enable rapid advancements in automotive technologies and validation."

The collaboration between Tata Elxsi and Emerson underscores their commitment to driving innovation in the automotive industry. By combining their strengths, they aim to redefine possibilities within the mobility landscape.
