Tata Curvv: A Striking New Electric SUV With ICE Options To Follow
Tata Motors is set to disrupt the compact SUV segment with the launch of the all-new Curvv. This feature-packed offering will come in both electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants, catering to a wider range of buyers.
Curvv EV: A Strong Contender in the Electric Arena
The Curvv EV will be the first variant to hit the market, expected to be unveiled on July 19th, 2024. Prices are likely to be announced on August 7th, with estimates starting around Rs 20 lakh. This positions it competitively against the current segment leader, the MG ZS EV.
Built on Tata's Gen 2 Acti.ev platform, details of which will be revealed soon, the Curvv EV boasts a promising range of around 450-500 km. An advanced regenerative braking system further enhances efficiency.
Standout Design with a Focus on Features
The Curvv EV's design adopts Tata's latest language, evident in the Nexon EV and Harrier. Key highlights include a striking full-width LED light bar, distinctive headlight and fog lamp housings, and a sleek blacked-out grille.
The sporty coupe profile sets the Curvv apart, complemented by bold body cladding, squared wheel arches, and flush-fitting door handles. A panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and electronic parking brake are some of the expected features, with top variants offering a premium leatherette interior.
Curvv ICE: Powerful Options to Come
Following the EV, Tata will introduce diesel and petrol variants of the Curvv. The diesel version is likely to borrow the proven 1.5-liter, 115 hp engine from the Nexon EV, offered with both manual and automatic transmissions.
For petrol enthusiasts, a new 1.2-liter, 125 hp, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine will be available with manual and automatic options as well. This ICE variant is expected to start at a competitive price of around Rs 10-11 lakh, taking on established players like the Creta, Seltos, and Grand Vitara.

The Tata Curvv, with its distinctive design, feature-rich interior, and both EV and ICE options, promises to be a compelling choice for buyers in the compact SUV segment.
