Tata Motors To Launch ICE Version Of Curvv On September 2, EV Deliveries Underway

Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of the ICE version of the Curvv on September 2. Ahead of this, the company has dispatched units to dealerships for display. Additionally, deliveries of the Curvv EV have recently commenced.

Tata Curvv: Engine Options

The Tata Curvv will come with three engine options: a turbo petrol, a GDi turbo petrol, and a diesel engine. The new 1.2-litre GDi turbocharged petrol engine, named Hyperion, produces 124 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. Another 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, also used in the Nexon, delivers 119 bhp and 170 Nm of torque.

The diesel variant features a 1.5-litre Kyrotec engine that generates 117 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Both petrol engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCA automatic transmission. The diesel engine also offers these transmission options, making it unique in its segment by featuring a dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Tata Curvv: Design Changes

There are subtle differences between the ICE-powered Curvv and its electric counterpart. The ICE variant includes a grille for fresh air intake and a redesigned air dam. Unique 18-inch alloy wheels adorn the sides, while only the Curvv branding is visible at the rear. Flush door handles have been added to improve aerodynamics.

Tata Curvv: Variants

The Tata Curvv will be available in four personas: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished. These variants aim to cater to different customer preferences and needs.

Tata Curvv: Expected Price

The expected starting price for the Tata Curvv is just under ₹10 lakh ex-showroom. This pricing strategy aims to make it competitive in its segment.

Both manual and automatic variants will feature paddle shifters for manual control of the gearbox. This feature enhances driving dynamics by allowing drivers to shift gears manually when needed.

The launch of the ICE version follows closely on the heels of the recent introduction of the Tata Curvv EV in India at ₹17.49 lakh. This move indicates Tata Motors' commitment to offering diverse powertrain options to meet varying consumer demands.

With these specifications and features, Tata Motors aims to capture a significant share in the compact SUV market. The inclusion of advanced transmission options and distinct design elements sets it apart from competitors.
