Recently, the upcoming Tata Curvv has been making a lot of noise on the internet and many people are anxiously waiting for the launch of this new SUV from Tata Motors. As such, here are a few top things you need to know about the Tata Curvv SUV.
Launch
The Tata Curvv SUV is expected to be launched in mid-2024, but the electric version of the Curvv SUV will be launched initially. For the ICE versions, potential customers have to wait for another 6 months.
Rivals
When launched, Tata Curvv is expected to compete against the likes of C-segment SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
Powertrain
Coming to the powertrain, the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine with around 125bhp and 225Nm of peak torque. Gearbox options are likely to include a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed DCT unit.
Tata Motors recently confirmed that the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV will be offered with a diesel engine as well. This diesel engine is the same unit that powers the diesel version of the Tata Nexon SUV.
On the other hand, the Tata Curvv EV is said to come with the automaker's Gen2 electric powertrain setup. This uprated powertrain is expected to have a claimed range of more than 450 kilometres on a full charge and the model is also expected to feature AWD option.
Expected Features
The upcoming Tata Curvv SUV is expected to come with features that are on par with its main rivals in the segment. Some of the noticeable features include a fully digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a wireless charger, a head-up display, and more.
Given most SUVs in the segment come equipped with a large panoramic sunroof, we also expect the Tata Curvv SUV to come equipped with this feature. Also, the Tata Curvv SUV could even come with ADAS tech that is similar to the one in the new Harrier and Safari SUVs.
Apart from these features, expect the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV to come equipped with all-LED exterior lighting, ventilated seats, leatherette seats, rear AC vents, powered driver's seat, auto headlamps, auto wiper, and a few more.
