Tata Altroz Witnesses Sharp 56% Sales Decline In July 2024
The Tata Altroz remains a favourite among Indian car buyers, known for its premium hatchback features. Despite its popularity, the sales figures for July 2024 show a significant decline. Tata Motors sold only 3,444 units of the Altroz in July 2024, compared to 7,817 units in July 2023, marking a 56% drop.
It's noteworthy that this decline in sales isn't limited to just July 2024; the trend has been ongoing. However, the Tata Altroz continues to be one of the safest cars in India. It has earned a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP crash tests, highlighting its robust safety features.
The base variant of the Tata Altroz starts at ₹6.65 lakhs in the Indian market, while the top variant is priced at ₹11.35 lakhs. These prices are ex-showroom. Additionally, Tata Motors offers a separate model known as the Tata Altroz Racer. The base variant of this model is priced at ₹9.49 lakhs, and the top variant costs ₹10.99 lakhs, all prices in ex-showroom.
One of the standout highlights of the Tata Altroz is its fuel efficiency. Tata Motors claims that the CNG variants can achieve a mileage of 26.20 km per kg under optimal conditions. This makes it an attractive option for those looking for both safety and economy in their vehicle.
In terms of competition, the Tata Altroz holds its own against other premium hatchbacks in the Indian market. It competes with models like the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza. Despite its declining sales, it remains a strong contender in this segment.
