Škoda Auto has been a steadfast partner of the Tour de France for 21 years and recently extended this partnership until 2028. This year, they provided 205 vehicles to support the event, including "red cars," an all-electric Enyaq, and a new plug-in-hybrid Superb Combi used by race director Christian Prudhomme.

The final stage of this year's race featured the public debut of the camouflaged Škoda Elroq. This new all-electric compact SUV will have its official premiere in autumn. The Elroq is the first model to showcase Škoda's new design language, Modern Solid, which enhances the exterior design of their vehicle portfolio.

CEO Klaus Zellmer expressed pride in Škoda Auto's long-standing partnership with the Tour de France. He stated, "The final laps are thrilling and make me proud that Škoda Auto is the main partner again to the Tour de France, for the 21st year in a row. I want to congratulate all the athletes who have given their best for almost 3,500 kilometres."

Škoda Auto's involvement extends beyond just providing vehicles; they also sponsor various cycling events globally. Since 2022, they have supported the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, an eight-stage women's race starting on 12 August in Rotterdam and ending on 18 August in Alpe d'Huez.

The brand has been responsible for creating crystal trophies for different classifications within the Tour de France for 14 years. These hand-made trophies stand at 60 cm tall and weigh 5 kg each. For ten years, Škoda has also sponsored the green jersey awarded to the points classification winner.

Škoda’s Global Strategy

Škoda Auto aims to be one of Europe’s top five best-selling brands by 2030 through its Next Level – Škoda Strategy 2030. They plan to expand their lineup with more entry-level segments and additional electric models while leveraging growth markets like India and North Africa.

In 2023, Škoda delivered over 866,000 vehicles worldwide and continues to operate under the Volkswagen Group umbrella. The company employs over 40,000 people globally and is active in around 100 markets.

Škoda manufactures components such as MEB battery systems, engines, and transmissions used across various Volkswagen Group brands. They operate three sites in Czech Republic and have production capacities in China, Slovakia, India, and Ukraine through local partnerships.

This year's Tour de France also marked another milestone with Škoda extending its cooperation with A.S.O., making them partners of a total of 20 international professional and amateur sports competitions.

The camouflaged Elroq joining racers during the final stage was a highlight as only select journalists had previously seen or tested it during initial media drives. Its official unveiling is eagerly anticipated this autumn.
