Subaru Of America's August Sales Climb 11.8%, Crosstrek Hits Sales Milestone

Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) announced vehicle sales of 63,053 units for August 2024, marking an 11.8% increase from August 2023's 56,407 units. Year-to-date sales reached 437,198 vehicles, reflecting a 6.4% rise compared to the same period in 2023.

The Crosstrek model achieved its highest sales month ever in August with 20,396 units sold, surpassing the previous record of 16,092 set in September 2022. This represents a significant 47% increase over August 2023. The Outback followed as the second-highest selling model with 16,435 units sold.

Subaru Sales Up, Crosstrek Breaks Record

Forester also saw strong demand with 13,456 units sold in August. However, this was a year-over-year decline as production ramps up to full capacity. The Solterra model experienced its best August ever with a 55% increase over the previous year.

Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer of Subaru of America, Inc., stated: "August marked our 25th consecutive month of growth thanks to Subaru retailers nationwide. Troy Poston, Senior Vice President of Sales at Subaru of America, Inc., added: "This summer season continued to see success with our strong lineup connecting with all types of customers looking for safe and reliable vehicles. Crosstrek, in particular, achieved its best sales month ever, becoming the right match for a steadily growing number of Subaru owners."

The Ascent model saw a slight decline with a decrease of 4.7% in August sales compared to last year. The BRZ experienced a notable increase of nearly 30%. The Impreza also performed well with a significant rise of over 43%. However, models like Legacy and WRX saw declines in their year-over-year sales figures.

Subaru's commitment to environmental sustainability is evident as all products are manufactured in zero-landfill plants. This includes Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc., which is recognised as a backyard wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
