Subaru Crosstrek Secures Maximum Five-Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating In 2024 Tests

The new Subaru Crosstrek has achieved a five-star overall rating in the 2024 European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). Subaru Europe, a subsidiary of SUBARU CORPORATION, announced this milestone. The Crosstrek excelled in all four key assessment areas: Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road Users, and Safety Assistance. This success means all Subaru models sold in the UK now hold Euro NCAP five-star ratings.

In the Child Occupant safety category, the Crosstrek scored 90%. It performed exceptionally well in crash tests involving 6 and 10-year-old children. The vehicle provided good protection for critical body regions during frontal offset and side pole impact tests. Additionally, it features an automatic system that disables the front passenger airbag when a rearward-facing child restraint is used.

Crosstrek Wins Five-Star Safety Rating

The Subaru Crosstrek also excelled in Adult Occupant assessments. It scored maximum points in side barrier and side-pole impact tests. These tests showed good protection for all critical body regions. The front seats and head restraints demonstrated effective whiplash injury protection during rear-end collisions. A geometric analysis of the rear seats confirmed similar whiplash protection.

For Vulnerable Road Users, the Crosstrek achieved top scores for its Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system for cyclists and Lane Support for motorcyclists. The system performed well across various scenarios, detecting and reacting effectively to both cyclists and motorcyclists.

The Safety Assist assessment area saw the Crosstrek attain maximum points in Lane Support. Its Lane Keep Assist gently corrects the vehicle's path when drifting out of a lane and intervenes in critical situations with Emergency Lane Keeping. The vehicle also features a seatbelt reminder system for both front and rear seats, which gained top marks.

Released in January 2024 in the UK, the Subaru Crosstrek is designed for tough conditions. It offers 220mm of ground clearance and permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive with X-MODE off-road system as standard. These features ensure maximum grip and traction on various terrains.
