Subaru Highlights Community Commitment And Sustainability In Annual Impact Report
Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) has been recognised by Points of Light as one of the most community-minded companies in America for the fourth consecutive year. This accolade is highlighted in SOA's sixth annual Corporate Impact Report, which underscores the company's mission to be More Than a Car Company®.
The report details Subaru's commitment to its stakeholders, including customers, retailers, employees, and communities. Tadashi ‘Tady’ Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Subaru of America, expressed gratitude to the broader Subaru community for their support and dedication.
Jeff Walters, President and COO of Subaru of America, emphasised the company's ongoing commitment to enhancing the world and empowering communities. The Corporate Impact Report outlines how Subaru embodied its Love Promise throughout 2023.
The Subaru Love Promise is organised into five pillars: Subaru Loves to Care, Subaru Loves the Earth, Subaru Loves to Help, Subaru Loves Learning, and Subaru Loves Pets. In 2023, Subaru made significant contributions, including over $1.4 million in donations to nonprofits in Camden through the SOA Foundation and over 15,000 hours of volunteer work nationwide.
Subaru partnered with TED@Work to promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) among employees. Kevin Kight, General Manager of Subaru of Olathe in Kansas, was recognised for his role in driving DEIB initiatives locally.
Subaru's annual equal pay analysis found no disparities based on race, ethnicity, or sex. This third-party assessment ensures transparency and fairness in pay practices.
Customer Commitment
Subaru received more Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards than any other brand since 2013. The company was also named #1 in safety and product quality by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI®) Automobile Study 2022-23.
Additionally, Consumer Reports awarded Subaru the 2023 Best Mainstream Automotive Brand title.
Community Commitment
Over the past sixteen years, SOA and its retailers have contributed more than $288 million through the annual Subaru Share the Love® Event. Forbes recognised Subaru as the #1 automotive brand for social impact.
The company also received the inaugural FutureCast TrailBlazer Award for "A Beautiful Silence," highlighting the connection between Subaru customers and their vehicles. In 2023 alone, over 70% of SOA employees volunteered a total of 15,064 hours in their communities.
Sustainable Development Goals
The report also aligns Subaru's corporate responsibility actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This alignment underscores how Subaru aims to make a positive impact globally.
