Subaru Announces Pricing For The 2025 Ascent SUV With New Trims
Subaru of America, Inc. has revealed the pricing for the 2025 Ascent, a 3-row SUV known for its spacious interior and advanced safety features. The 2025 model introduces two new trims: Bronze Edition and Onyx Edition Touring. Available in various trims, including Premium and Limited, the Ascent will hit Subaru retailers this fall.
The Ascent Premium, starting at $38,795, now serves as the entry-level trim with a standard "Convenience Package." This trim includes EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, Steering Responsive LED headlights, Keyless Access with Push-Button Start, Power Rear Gate, Reverse Automatic Braking, and Auto-Dimming Mirror with HomeLink®. It also features Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

The Bronze Edition debuts this year with unique exterior accents and 20-inch bronze alloy wheels. Inside, it features Subaru StarTex® water-repellant seats for durability. The Onyx Edition Touring combines elements from both the Touring and standard Onyx Edition trims. It includes Nappa leather-appointed ventilated front seats and a high-grade leather-wrapped heated steering wheel.
All trim levels come equipped with a 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine producing 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a high-torque Lineartronic® CVT featuring an 8-speed manual mode function, this powertrain allows up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity. Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and X-MODE® with Hill Descent Control are standard across all trims.
The 2025 Ascent adds Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to its suite of active safety features. Automatic Emergency Steering is now standard, using Blind-Spot Detection alongside EyeSight Pre-Collision Braking to help avoid collisions at speeds below 50 mph. For the first time, Emergency Stop Assist is also standard.
For better situational awareness while parking, an available Surround View Monitor offers a 360-degree overhead view using images from four vehicle cameras. Cabin Connect is available on trims equipped with a Harman Kardon® QuantumLogic™ surround sound system to amplify the driver’s voice to third-row occupants.
Interior Comforts and Technology
The Ascent Limited builds on the Premium trim by adding DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, Auto-Dimming Mirror with HomeLink®, Cabin Connect, Surround View Monitor, STARLINK Multimedia Navigation system, Harman Kardon® premium audio system, panoramic power moonroof, and retractable cargo cover. The interior is upgraded with leather-trimmed upholstery and heated outboard second-row seats.
The SUBARU STARLINK 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system is standard across all models. This high-definition touchscreen controls multimedia functions like climate control and vehicle settings. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay®, Android™ Auto, AM/FM/HD Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, rear vision camera, SiriusXM®, and SiriusXM Travel Link® (with a four-month free Platinum subscription).
Award-Winning Safety
The Ascent continues to be one of Subaru’s most awarded vehicles since its debut in 2019. It received the 2024 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ award for the seventh consecutive year (2018-2024). Additionally, it earned a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for 2024.
The Onyx Edition starts at $42,195 and features unique exterior elements like black-finished alloy wheels. Inside are gray Subaru StarTex® water-repellant seats paired with black accent trim throughout the cabin. Green stitching complements the seats, dash panels, door panels, and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
