Smart Rolls Out Complimentary OTA Update For Model #1 And #3, Elevating Performance And Comfort
Smart has rolled out a significant over-the-air (OTA) update for its #1 and #3 models, enhancing vehicle performance and driver convenience. This free update, available to all owners of these models, includes new features like low energy regeneration and smart companion selection.
The latest OTA update from smart introduces several new functions aimed at improving driving comfort and safety. Key highlights include an optimised energy recovery management system and up-to-date traffic announcements. These enhancements ensure a more enjoyable and secure driving experience.
Since the launch of its new product generation, smart has provided five OTA updates free of charge for all smart #1 and #3 customers. These updates reflect the company's commitment to continuously improving the user experience based on customer feedback.
Smart focuses on delivering state-of-the-art technology tailored to customer needs. Recurring OTA updates contribute to a more efficient, reliable, and enjoyable mobility experience. The latest update is part of this ongoing effort to enhance vehicle functionality.

New Features in the Latest Update
The update includes several new features designed to enhance the driving experience. One notable addition is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, which allows the traction battery of smart vehicles to supply power to external devices using a special vehicle-to-device cable.
Another feature is low energy regeneration, offering drivers a gentler level of regenerative braking. This setting provides more configurability, ensuring that the #1 and #3 models can be tailored to various driving styles.
Additional Enhancements
The update also brings new sound experiences for the smart #1 models. This includes new interior sound effects for the Premium model and engine simulation sounds for the BRABUS and Launch Edition variants.
For the first time, owners can choose between two avatars—either a fox or a cheetah—for their smart companion display. They can also decide whether the avatar should be fully animated or displayed as a static graphic.
Flexible Camera View
A flexible 360-degree camera window is another addition in this update. The "picture-in-picture" camera view can now be positioned anywhere on the central screen, providing greater flexibility for drivers.
