Škoda Triumphs At Auto Express And EcoCar Awards With Four Major Wins
Škoda has achieved significant recognition at the Auto Express New Car Awards, securing three category wins. The new Octavia was named Best Family Car, while the all-new Kodiaq and Superb took home titles for Best Large SUV and Best Estate, respectively. Additionally, the Enyaq was honoured as the Best Electric Large SUV in the EcoCar Electrified Top 50 Awards.
The updated Octavia continues to impress, having previously won overall Car of the Year in 2020. For 2024, it was named Family Car of the Year. Auto Express Editor Paul Barker commented on its victory: "The updated Octavia looks smarter and is better equipped than ever. And as before, the Octavia plays best as an ultra-capable, long-distance, comfy cruiser. At this game, there are few that can truly rival it."
The all-new Superb and Kodiaq also received high praise from the Auto Express judging panel. These models, which hit UK showrooms in June 2024, were recognised for their advanced technologies and enhanced practicality. Paul Barker noted: "The new Superb and Kodiaq build on the success of the previous generation cars. Both add a new layer of premium sophistication and interior quality to sit alongside the practicality, efficiency and clever innovation that we, and buyers, so love."
The Kodiaq has now won the Best Large SUV award three consecutive times and has accumulated five category wins at the Auto Express New Car Awards. This consistency highlights its enduring appeal and excellence in its class.
Similarly, the Superb has been named best in its class five times at these awards, making it one of the most successful vehicles in Auto Express history. Its blend of premium features and practical design continues to resonate with both judges and consumers.
Enyaq's Recognition in Electric Vehicle Segment
Away from the Auto Express Awards, Škoda’s Enyaq was named Best Electric Large SUV in the EcoCar Electrified Top 50 Awards. Diesel&EcoCar Editor Ian Robertson praised it: "The Enyaq is still our favourite Volkswagen Group electric car. Sleek and handsome without being too wacky, the Enyaq is a family favourite thanks to its spacious back seats and giant 585-litre boot on the SUV edition."
