Volkswagen Struggles Alongside Skoda In July 2024 Sales
Car sales in July 2024 were generally low, with most automakers experiencing a year-on-year (YoY) decline. Only Mahindra, Toyota, and Kia managed to avoid this trend. The upcoming festive season, starting with Onam in Kerala, is expected to boost showroom visits and sales.
Skoda's sales figures for July 2024 showed a significant drop. The company sold 2,103 units, marking a 50% YoY decrease from the 4,207 units sold in July 2023. Month-on-month (MoM) sales also fell by 18%, down from 2,566 units in June 2024. Skoda is testing a new sub-4-meter SUV set to debut in early 2025, with the official name likely to be announced on August.

The Virtus showed both YoY and MoM growth by selling 1,766 units compared to its previous figures.
