Škoda’s Laura Voice Assistant Upgraded With ChatGPT For Enhanced Driver Assistance
Škoda has significantly enhanced its voice assistant Laura by integrating ChatGPT through the Chat Pro function from Cerence Inc. This upgrade allows Laura to provide answers beyond its original scope, improving everyday life for Škoda drivers. The feature is available in the Škoda Enyaq family models with the new 4.0 software version, the new-generation Škoda Superb and Kodiaq, as well as the updated Škoda Octavia.
The integration of ChatGPT into Laura ensures that user and car data remain secure at all times. When a question falls outside predefined categories like ‘Vehicle,’ ‘Data,’ ‘Weather,’ ‘News,’ ‘Sports,’ or ‘Stocks,’ it is directed to Chat Pro, which connects to ChatGPT. Responses from ChatGPT are prefaced with "According to ChatGPT…". Users can control this feature via privacy settings in the vehicle’s infotainment system, except in Enyaq models where it is always active.

Škoda's commitment to customer centricity is evident with this new connectivity feature. The voice assistant now handles a broader range of queries while maintaining stringent data protection standards. Importantly, ChatGPT does not access vehicle data or personal information; all requests are processed anonymously and deleted immediately after processing.
To use this feature, users need an active Infotainment Online Package. It is available in models built on the MEB GP and MQB EVO platforms equipped with the latest infotainment systems. Supported languages currently include English, Spanish, Czech, and German.
