Spy Pics: Skoda's Sub 4-Metre Brezza & Nexon Rival Spotted Testing
Skoda is gearing up to make a significant yet compact addition to its vehicle lineup with a new sub-4 metre compact SUVset to join its lineup in India. And while the name of the upcoming SUV is still in the air, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon rival has been spied testing on our roads.
These early spy shots, posted on Facebook, provide us a glimpse into the design and of the upcoming Skoda SUV and at first glance it looks like it will share several elements with the existing Kushaq SUV. The taillights, despite the heavy camo look rather similar to the ones on larger SUV currentlly on the Kushaq.

Other highligts of the upcoming Skoda sub 4-metre SUV that were captured in these spy images include a split headlamp setup with LED Daytime Running Lamps that flank Skoda's butterfly grille. Other highlights include a large intake on the lower section of the front bumper, roof rails, and some rather nice looking alloy wheels.
The upcoming Skoda SUV will also be powered by the same 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that is found in the Kushaq. It is still unknown if Skoda will make any changes to the engine which delivers 113 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque under the bonnet of the Kushaq and comes paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The upcoming compact sub 4-metre SUV current will join the likes of the Kodiaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and Superb, and be the fifth model in Skoda's lineup for the Indian market. The new SUV will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, a version of the Volkswagen Group's MQB-AO platform that has been tailored especially for India.
The new Skoda SUV is expected to come packed to its gills with features galore with a special focus on safety. The Czech carmaker is expected to offer the new compact SUV for India with six airbags as standard.

The upcoming Skoda sub 4-metre SUV will be the most important launche for the Czech carmaker during its time in India. With Skoda looking to double its numbers In India with the new SUV, we really do hope it lives up to its expectations when it does hit our roads in the coming year.
