Skoda Kylaq SUV: 7 Key Features That Outshine Maruti Suzuki Brezza
The Skoda Kylaq has entered the sub-4m SUV market, competing with models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. This article explores 7 key features that set the Skoda Kylaq SUV apart from its rival.
Electrically Adjustable & Ventilated Front Seats
The Kylaq offers 6-way electrically adjustable front seats, providing more convenience compared to the Brezza's manual adjustment for the driver only. Additionally, front-row passengers in the Kylaq benefit from ventilated seats, a feature absent in the Brezza. This is particularly advantageous in India's hot climate, though it's expected to be available only in higher-spec variants of the Kylaq.

6 Airbags
Safety is another area where the Kylaq excels, offering six airbags as standard across all variants. In contrast, the Brezza provides six airbags only in its top-spec ZXi Plus trim, with lower trims featuring just dual front airbags. Both SUVs include safety technologies like electronic stability control and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
Bigger Infotainment Unit & Digital Driver's Display
The infotainment system in the Kylaq features a 10-inch touchscreen, surpassing the Brezza's 9-inch unit. Both systems support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and include connected car technology. The Kylaq also boasts an 8-inch digital driver's display, whereas the Brezza relies on analogue dials with a small multi-info display.

Cornering Headlights
The Skoda Kylaq includes cornering headlights that enhance visibility around corners at night or during low visibility conditions. The Brezza comes with LED projector headlights and front LED fog lamps but lacks this advanced feature. Both vehicles offer automatic headlight functionality.
TPMS
A tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is another feature present in higher-spec variants of the Kylaq. This system alerts drivers to any loss in tyre pressure, whether stationary or moving, enhancing safety and convenience.

Market Position & Pricing
Skoda has launched the Kylaq with introductory prices starting at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). Full pricing details will be announced on December 2, 2024, when reservations open as well. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 27, 2025.
The Skoda Kylaq not only competes with Maruti Suzuki Brezza but also rivals other sub-4m SUVs like Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue. With its array of features and competitive pricing, it aims to capture a significant share of this segment.
