Skoda Kylaq SUV To Be Unveiled Tomorrow: Specs & Tech Expectations

Skoda recently released a TVC teaser of its upcoming Kylaq SUV, featuring Indian filmmaker, Rohit Shetty. This upcoming SUV from Skoda is scheduled to make its global debut on 6th November.

The Skoda Kylaq SUV is the first sub-4m product for the Czech automaker in India since the discontinuation of the Fabia hatchback in the country back in 2013. This will make the Skoda Kylaq a lot more accessible to a wider spectrum of buyers.

That being said, despite the compact dimensions of the Skoda Kylaq SUV, the model is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. This is the same platform that underpins vehicles such as the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia.

Thanks to the use of the MQB-A0-IN platform, we expect the upcoming Skoda Kylaq to offer good interior space compared to other SUVs in the segment. Moreover, we expect the Kylaq to have a 5-star safety rating under the Global-NCAP crash test protocols.

Speaking about safety, the upcoming Skoda Kylaq will feature more than 25 active and passive features such as traction control, stability control, six airbags, electronic brake distribution, anti-lock brakes, rollover protection, electronic differential lock, motor slip regulation, multi-collision braking, and passenger airbag deactivation.

Some of the expected features on the Kylaq SUV include LED lighting, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, digital instrument cluster, adjustable rear AC vents, type-C USB ports at both front and rear, electric sunroof, and more.

Powering the Skida Kylaq will be the automaker's famed 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from the Kushaq and Slavia. This engine puts out 114bhp and 178Nm of torque, and comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic unit.

In terms of design, the exterior of the Kylaq looks sleek and the signature slatted grille adds a little premium feel. It also features sporty alloy wheels, squarish wheel arches, and a slightly tapering rear roof section. Overall, the design execution is very stylish and attractive.
