Skoda Kylaq To Reach Showrooms By Feb 2025: Skoda's First Sub-4m Product For India

Skoda has announced that its new sub-four metre compact SUV will be named the Kylaq. The vehicle is set to hit showrooms by February 2025, with production starting by the end of this year. The Kylaq is part of Skoda's India 2.0 programme and will feature a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine.

The Skoda Kylaq will be powered by a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, delivering 113bhp and 175Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine setup aims to provide a balanced mix of performance and efficiency.

Sub-4m Design

The design of the Kylaq closely resembles that of the Kushaq but has been shortened after the C-pillar to meet the sub-4m length requirement. This adjustment ensures it fits within the compact SUV segment in India, making it competitive against other models in this category.

Inside, much of the cabin and features from the Kushaq are expected to remain unchanged, offering a premium experience for buyers. This consistency in design and features aims to attract customers looking for quality and comfort in a compact SUV.

Competition

The Skoda Kylaq will compete with several established models the Indian market, including the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx, Maruti Brezza, Toyota Taisor, and Mahindra XUV 3XO Skoda aims to position the Kylaq as a strong contender in this crowded segment.

Skoda is likely to announce prices for the Kylaq at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo scheduled for January 2025. This event will provide an ideal platform for Skoda to showcase its latest offering and generate interest among potential buyers.
