Skoda Kylaq SUV Base Variant Details Revealed: Tech & Other Highlights
Skoda India has recently taken the wraps off its latest offering, the Kylaq SUV, setting the stage to compete directly with the Tata Nexon in the bustling sub-four-metre SUV segment.
With an introductory price tag of Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the Kylaq is poised to make a significant impact in the market, with further details on the pricing of its various variants slated for release on 2 December.
The Kylaq SUV will be available in four distinct variants: Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige, each designed to cater to a range of customer preferences.
The unveiling of the Kylaq has also brought to light the interior features of its base variant, the Classic, which is equipped with essentials such as 16-inch steel wheels, power windows, and push start/stop button among others.
Despite its entry-level position, the Classic variant ensures passenger safety with six airbags and comfort with features like manual air conditioning and rear AC vents. However, it's worth noting that the Classic variant does not include some of the more advanced features found in the top-tier models.
These omitted features include a digital instrument panel, an infotainment screen, steering mounted controls, and cruise control, to name a few. Additionally, the base model lacks automatic climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, and an electric sunroof, which are reserved for the higher-spec variants.
At the heart of the Kylaq SUV lies a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which is available with both a six-speed manual and an automatic torque converter unit. This engine is capable of producing a commendable 114bhp and 178Nm of peak torque, offering a blend of performance and efficiency suitable for a variety of driving conditions.
