Skoda Kylaq Bookings To Commence Today At 4pm
Skoda Auto India is gearing up to launch its latest sub-compact SUV, the Kylaq. Bookings will commence today at 4 pm. The company has announced the starting price for the base model at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). However, details about the pricing of all four variants-Classic, Signature, Signature Plus, and Prestige-will be disclosed today.
The Skoda Kylaq is set to compete in a crowded market segment against well-known models like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Deliveries for this new SUV are planned to begin on January 27, 2025.

Exterior & Dimensions
On the exterior front, Skoda's signature design elements are evident in the Kylaq's appearance. The front features a bold grille flanked by sleek LED DRLs and split headlights. At the rear are L-shaped LED taillights accompanied by a prominent 'Skoda' badge and chunky bumpers.
The Kylaq is built on Skoda's MQB-A0-IN platform, tailored specifically for the Indian market. Despite its compact size, it offers ample space with dimensions of 3,995 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height. It also features a wheelbase of 2,566 mm and a ground clearance of 189 mm.

Features
Designed to attract tech-savvy consumers, the Skoda Kylaq comes equipped with several modern features. Inside the cabin are an 8.0-inch fully digital driver display and a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional highlights include connected car technology and ventilated front seats with semi-leatherette upholstery.
Engine Specifications
The Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine delivering 115hp and 178Nm of torque. Buyers have the option between a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. According to Skoda, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 10.5 seconds.

Safety Tech
Safety is a priority for Skoda, with the Kylaq offering six airbags as standard along with ABS with EBD and traction control systems. Additionally, ISOFIX child seat anchors are provided along with three-point seatbelts for all passengers, ensuring comprehensive safety measures. The vehicle also includes a reverse parking camera complete with sensors to aid drivers during parking manoeuvres.
