Skoda Kylaq Base Variant Specs & Features
Skoda Auto recently opened bookings for the new Kylaq SUV in India for a token amount of Rs 15,000. Prices for the model start from Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 14.40 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec variant.
That being said, at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the base 'Classic' variant looks very attractive considering many of the safety features are standard across variants, and all variants use the same engine.

Speaking of safety, the new Kylaq SUV is built on the same MQB-A0 IN platform as the Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia models, both of which have bagged 5-Star safety ratings under BNCAP.
Apart from the proven platform, the Skoda Kylaq SUV boasts plenty of standard safety features including 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, a reverse parking camera, TPMS, ESC, hill-start assist, and rear parking sensors.

Additionally, for the price, the base variant of the Skoda Kylaq SUV comes decently equipped with features such as power windows, 3-point seat belts, ISOFIX anchoring points, air conditioning and a few more tech.
Coming to the powertrain, the base variant of the Skoda Kylaq comes powered by the same 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine as other variants of the model. This engine is tuned to produce 114bhp and 178Nm of torque.

That being said, unlike other variants of the Kylaq SUV, the base 'Classic' variant of the Kylaq cannot be specified with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Instead, the base Kylaq variant can only be specified with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
